Here is our first of a series of interviews of our summer camp teaching artists by Kim’s daughter, who wrote us some questions to send to teachers.
To the right you see Sly holding the interview questions, and below you will see the interview questions. Benjamin is teaching our Guerrilla Printmaking Camp during Week 6, 8/8/2016 – 8/12/2016 Mon-Fri 9 am – 12:30 pm Grades: 2nd – 6th
The interview questions
SLY: What kind of work do you do?
Benjamin: I make mixed media art. Using elements of screen printing and painting. I am drawn to color and the creation of forms and space.
SLY: What two animals would you mix into one new animal?
Benjamin: Maybe a fox and duck? Not sure how that would work- but I like those two animals. A fox that can fly? A duck that has the foxes color?
SLY: What do you like to teach?
Benjamin: I like to teach drawing, printmaking and color the same things I like to do in my own art.
SLY: What’s your favorite vegetable? Mine is a pickle. Are you a vegetarian?
Benjamin: My favorite vegetable is broccoli.
SLY: Do you have kids?
Benjamin: I do, I have a boy and a girl who are 6, they are twins.
